Nicht umsonst beinhaltet allein schon der Name des Gelben Flammenbaums oder Gelben Flamboyants Parallelen zum rotblühenden Flammenbaum (Delonix regia).

Wo dieser mit roten Blüten die Blicke auf sich zieht, tut es der Gelbe Flamboyant (Peltophorum pterocarpum) eben mit gelben Blüten, die zart duften: Sie bedecken die Kronen älterer Bäume im Hochsommer mit einer leuchtend gelben Decke bis zu 25 cm langer Blütenkerzen, die sich über den runden bis schirmförmigen Kronen erheben. Aus ihnen entwickeln sich lange, braune Samenschoten.

There are good reasons why the name of the yellow flame tree or yellow flamboyant already contains parallels to the red-flowered flame tree (Delonix regia).

Where the latter attracts attention with its red flowers, the yellow flamboyant (Peltophorum pterocarpum) does so with yellow flowers that are delicately fragrant: in midsummer, they cover the crowns of older trees with a bright yellow blanket of up to 25 cm long flower corollas that rise above the round to umbrella-shaped crowns. Long, brown seed pods develop from them.

No en vano, el nombre del árbol de la llama amarilla o flamboyán amarillo contiene por sí solo un paralelismo con el árbol de la llama de flor roja (Delonix regia).
Mientras que este último llama la atención con sus flores rojas, el flamboyán amarillo (Peltophorum pterocarpum) lo hace con flores amarillas delicadamente perfumadas: en pleno verano, cubren las copas de los árboles más viejos con un manto amarillo brillante de corolas florales de hasta 25 cm de longitud que se elevan por encima de las copas redondas o en forma de paraguas. De ellas salen largas vainas de semillas de color marrón.
