Finca El Quinto is a family-run finca in the north of Tenerife. There are three generations living and working together on the farm. Originally established in the 1980s, the finca is now run by the second generation. The formerly fallow land has been gradually turned into a natural oasis of serenity.
Travellers have the opportunity to experience a holiday in a natural and authentic environment. The traditional Canarian houses are set amongst orange trees, banana palms and many other exotic types of plants and trees.
Responsible tourism
We are committed to treating the natural surroundings with the greatest respect
Reduced plastic waste
There is a private drinking water filter and glass bottles in every holiday home. You can fill fresh drinking tap water straight into the bottles and avoid buying harmful plastic bottles.
Biodegradable products
The care products in the holiday homes (hand soap, shampoo etc.) are biodegradable and can be refilled by our guests.
This means that the waste grey water filtered in the three-chamber system can be reused to irrigate the bananas without adding harmful chemicals. It also helps to reduce plastic waste from single-use bottles.
Renewable energy
Our photovoltaic systems manage to supply a large part of the finca with self-sufficient electricity.
Organic agriculture
Since the beginning, we have been farming the land and fields of the finca exclusively organically. We make sure to regularly rotate the fields when cultivating the land to give the soil enough time to regenerate. We also prioritise diversity instead of monoculture.
Local products
To support local farmers, you will find goat cheese, honey, bread, beer, wine, among others, from external producers in our farm shop. We also have a community locker where guests who are leaving can pass on their leftover groceries to new guests to avoid food waste.
Recycled materials
In the process of constructing the houses, we have focussed on recycling old materials salvaged from buildings that are being demolished. In the homes you will find antiques and many other beautiful details from past times that have been repurposed. We also use ecological products in the renovation and maintenance of the houses.
Local community
It is important to us to involve the local community. The artworks in the houses are by local artists and the activities and excursions we offer are organised by local providers

Vegetable garden
The vegetable fields on the finca are cultivated organically. We make sure to rotate the fields regularly, to create good neighbourhoods between the plants and to maintain mixed cultivation in order to ensure the health of the soil.
Guests can take full advantage of the ‘farm to table’ philosophy during their holiday, harvesting their own produce or buying it from our farm shop. By avoiding additional supply chains, you can enjoy products with a unique freshness and quality.
Fincashop
Depending on the season, you will find fresh fruit and vegetables from the finca and local farmers in the farm shop.
